ARTLAB PROJECTS: We offer personalized art projects, art classes, workshops and consultancy, starting December 2025 in downtown Indianapolis
- Contemporary Practice in Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Digital Printing and Hybrid Art; Colorlab | reprographic and manual and digital / gestural, painterly, laser etched and photographic | underpinned by history, concepts and techniques of art
- Learning, understanding and implementing new research into Safer Art Practices and materials in Painting, and Printmaking and Hybrid art for artists and educators
Residency and Workshop Opportunities!
The ARTLAB INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS and ART PROJECTS residency is for artists and educators interested in learning about contemporary and safer art practices, while creating a small body of work. Under the guidance of Royal College of Art graduate Friedhard Kiekeben–international artist, Chicago professor, and new methods pioneer–participants will learn and practice art making across Printmaking, Painting and Hybrid Art within their own chosen projects and preferences. Topics related to art, ideas and techniques will be discussed. For those interested, final works can be submitted for inclusion in an online gallery on this site. Courses concludes on a Sunday with a mini show. Key painting and printmaking materials, such as metals, plastics, laser cutter supplies, inks, paints, papers, and plates are included in the weekend course.
Artlab Projects Residency and Workshops – bookings for one to one tuition and workshops in small groups are taken by appointment; please email us with your requirements.
The private painting and printmaking studio / facility in southern downtown Indianapolis is fully equipped for professional printmaking, digital imaging, photography, scanning, printing, painting, drawing, and mixed media. Coffee and tea are available onsite. For meals, studio guests can brownbag it, order in, or go out. A diner, a Wendy’s and a Pancake House are within walking distance from the studio. Indianapolis downtown attractions, the zoo, White River State park are a mile away, across the river, and the airport, hotels, and major highways are also nearby.
